Having problems with vegetarian diet…?

i decided to be vegetarian today. actually yesterday i ate rabbit stew but i didn’t know that the rabbit i ate was MY rabbit, which i was growing for 3 years now… so i don’t wanna eat meat anymore!
i’m only 14 y/o but i heard that it’s not dangerous.
my question is:
i saw at the vegetarian food pyramid that i have to eat beans in every meal. that’s impossible for me! my parents don’t even know that i will be vegetarian so i can’t ask them for that! i also don’t like beans.
so do i have to eat beans in every meal or not?

You don’t have to eat beans at every meal. I’m vegan and I don’t even eat them every day. My advice is to learn how to cook.

What Would it be like to be a Vegetarian?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a vegetarian? What the benefits and downsides are? I know that I have, that’s why I made it my driving question, how does being a vegetarian affect you and the environment? Prior to doing my project I spent quite a lot oftime considering not eating meat anymore, that’s why I further explored it, I wanted to get to the bottom of it, to clear my head.
This being one ofthe very few research projects I was actually excited about, I dove into my studies and starting planning right away. After researching and fmding some pretty interesting facts, I decided I needed more… I was missing something… I realized, maybe becoming a vegetarian for the duration of my project could help me connect more and further understand the things I’m learning.
After my research was complete I moved onto planning my animation more, I combined all the little ideas I had been plotting during my research and made a script. I wrote out the dialogue my narrator would be saying and the actions my little vegetarian character would be doing to correspond. Before I started the actual animation I did my audio first so I could know exactly when to make my character jump or wave. I didn’t have that much experience with stop motion except for a 30 second clay-mation I made in 8th grade.
The only things I had some problems with we researching and animating. During my research I wasn’t fmding as many facts and sites about vegetarians affecting the environment as I planned on. For my animation I found it very tedious to go through the same process over and over again, draw, take picture, erase, draw, take picture, erase … etc. Over all I’d estimate it took me about 3 or 4 hours to make a 2-minute animation.
From doing my project, my head has become much more clear and I learned almost all the things I wanted to. Being a vegetarian isn’t as bad as people make it to be, sure the food selection might be a little more boring, but I’ve noticed a slight increase of energy and well being. Plus I have a sense of accomplishment from keeping with it for over a month now. Also I didn’t mind getting to play with animation a little more.

What is the best site to find good Northern Indian vegetarian recipes?

I’m suffering from a severe Indian food deficiency and the closest place that sells it is over 100 miles away! <sniffle>

Here is one of the sites I use : http://cooks.ndtv.com/default.asp?pg=home . It has recipies, a party planner, search option, videos etc. and a lot of other useful stuff. You will find not just North indian but also food from across India, which I like as I have more options to chose from depending on what I want to eat on a particular day.

Here’s another site which I like to use when I want authentic Indian recipes : http://spicezee.zeenews.com/Gourmet/ . This site too has a lot of useful stuff, like a party planner, storage tips, kitchen tips, recipe finder based on Regional cooking, etc.

cant find a recipe for vegetarian chili using toasted old fashioned rolled oats.?

A while back my boss found a vegan chili that involved taking old fashioned rolled oats, toasting them in a dry fry pan( no fat involved) and were then added to the rest of the recipe. The toasted oats took on a meat like mouth feel and added a great dimension of flavor to the vegan chili.
I have combed the internet, googled like crazy but no luck.
Anyone heard of this?
MaylingO…that one is close but in mine the oats were the old fashioned ones and were toasted while dry before ever cooking them.
But…..I like your recipe and will keep it. The chocolate and chipotle is an interesting twist on flavors. thanks

Sounds interesting. I will have to look for it also. If I find it I will post the link here.

In the meantime if you would like another vegetarian chili recipe this site has great veggie chili recipes
