Would being type O blood and becoming vegetarian do anything to me?
I want to become a vegetarian/vegan because 1. I heard it’s healthier. And 2. I really love animals. But my mom and brother said that since I am blood type O it would do something. I can’t remember what though. I think they said it would do something to my body. So what would it do and is there any way to avoid it?
Allow me to be the first to disabuse you of the notion that blood type has anything whatsoever to do with what foods you should be eating. The blood type diet nonsense has been debunked many times, and experts dismiss it as pseudo-science.
However, I also don’t think that you should change your way of eating based on something you might have heard. Do some research regarding nutrition and make your own decision.

Vegan Amino Tabs

Product DescriptionVegan Amino Tabs consist of an optimized balance of Organic Pumpkin, Pea and Brown Rice proteins specially designed to be a travel-friendly supplement to the Vegan diet.
With the right intake, Vegan diets can be just as amino complete as animal-based diets, dispelling any concern of dietary nitrogen deficiency that can result from some diets. Especially when on travel and poor selections often leave us having to settle for light meals of mostly carbs and fat, Vegan Travel Tabs are a perfect compliment to the busy Vegan’s lifestyle. Keep them at the office, home, or with you whenever you’re on-the-go and you’ll never have to worry about amino deficiency again. Other vegan proteins that don’t disclose their amino spectrum are almost always deficient in one amino acid or another, even blended formulas, but Vegan Travel Tabs are carefully optimized to meet every amino acid requirement reported by the World Health Organization (Table 23, page 150) in their most recent 2007 Report. We at VTN care very deeply about leveling the barriers in the way to adopting the Vegan way of life, and we believe that anyone with the ambition to start the journey should be rewarded with a reliable product that’s convenient and effective.

How to Become a Vegetarian (Recipes, Diets, Beginner’s Guide)

Product DescriptionThis book is part of Hyperink’s best little books series. Our best little books are 3,500-5,000 words of fast, entertaining information on a highly demanded topic. Based on reader feedback (including yours!), we may expand this book in the future. If we do so, we’ll send a free copy to all previous buyers.
ABOUT THE BOOK
There are countless reasons that may have been behind your decision not to eat meat: moral, practical, and health-related are only a few. If you are like most people, the the first step in your process of going vegetarian is figuring out exactly what led you to this decision.
Maybe, like many vegetarians, you simply believe that eating animals is wrong. No matter how humanely the animal was raised, or how allegedly painless the slaughter, you simply will not be responsible for ending another life. One vegetarian recalled how this moral truth was evident to her from a young age, but she didnt make the switch until much later in life, mostly because she hadnt known how.
Perhaps, though, your ethical conflict is less black and white, and you are more opposed to the practices involved in eating meat than the theory behind it. You may have seen a video like this one of brutal slaughterhouse procedures produced by the Humane Society, or you are one of the millions of readers of books by Jonathan Safran Foer, Eric Schlosser, and Michael Pollan chronicling the cruelty, corruption, and staggering environmental effects of the factory farming industry.
MEET THE AUTHOR
Deena Shanker is a writer living in San Francisco. After moving to the west coast from New York City in the fall, she is loving San Fran’s beautiful weather, colorful architecture, and never-ending vegetarian food options. She loves visiting the beach with her dog, Barley, and eating cheese (also sometimes with Barley). She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Barnard College.
EXCERPT FROM THE BOOK
Its almost inevitable that you will face some scrutiny about your choice to become a vegetarian. People are going to ask you why, and more often than not, they will tell you why youre wrong. Know yourself and the reasons behind your decision and dont try to persuade anyone else to give up meat. Be careful to watch your tone so that you dont reproach people you care about, even if they are doing it to you.
I recommend gaging the persons interest before continuing the conversation. Are they just asking you to be polite or do they really care? If the person really cares, give a short explanation that isnt too graphic. (E.g., Animals are often slaughtered in an unnecessary cruel and inhumane manner is better than Did you know that cows are often skinned before theyre even dead?) If the person is less engaged, you may want to suggest some of the reading, movies, or websites that played a role in your decision and leave it at that.
Also, be tactful. Dont talk about the cruel treatment of animals right when your dining partner is digging into his burger. Dont send a PETA video to a friend that has no interest in learning about it. You are unlikely to change your friends habits, but you may end up offending or alienating people important to you.
