Weight loss help for a teenage vegetarian?
I’m a fifteen year old girl and I am looking to lose fifteen pounds. I am about 5′4. I’d like to lose it within the next two months. I am also a vegetarian. As far as exercise goes, I am currently running for 30-40 minutes five times a week. I am mostly concerned about my diet. Any suggestions for diet plans?
changing your diet to only healthy foods is the best thing you can do and will ensure you will lose weight if combine with walking everyday especially.
you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.
1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.
(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)

What has more benefits a vegan or vegetarian diet for weight loss?
I have been looking for a good diet and these 2 seemed like the healthiest but i don’t know which one would benefit me more in weight loss. being vegan or vegetarian seems like a really good lifestyle and i would like to stick to it after my ideal weight loss. But for now i want to focus on the weight loss. I would love to hear opinions on every ones point of view.
What you are talking about is a life style change not a diet. Diets are temporary and do not last. Also neither a vegan or vegetarian diets has more weight loss benefits than the other. Weight loss has to do with metabolism, diet, and exercise. Basically you just need to watch how many calories you are taking in daily. Vegetarians and vegans are definitely not always skinny. Although their limited diets consist of foods that are lower in calories they also deprive the body of important nutrients if care is not taken. I suggest becoming a pescatarian (i.e. essentially a vegetarian that eats fish and seafood). Regardless you do not need to become a vegan ect… to lose weight. Eat lean meat, plenty of fruits and vegtables, whole grain wheat breads, and drink plenty of water. Just limit your consumption. One should never eat until he/she feels "full". Also people who eat throughout the day tend to weigh less. Eat small meals ( lunch example: sandwich(bread, meat, maybe cheese/ a yogurt/ and an apple) and eat a small snack in between to prevent hunger (carrots, celery, or a banana). Most people overeat because of prolonged hunger. And finally make sure you get at least 30min. of exercise daily.
Can not eating meat (or being a Vegetarian) cause weight loss?
I heard people can lose weight of they stop eating meat, after being a meat eater their whole life.
I’m just wondering if that’s true. I’ve just recently stop eating meat, it’s been about 2 weeks. I’m 15, almost 16, and I used to always eat meats. Especially things like steak, chicken and pork. I’m female by the way, and I’m 5′7, 120 pounds
Im not looking to lose weight, but if I continue pursuing a vegetarian life will I begin to lose weight?
You might lose a tad, but chances are you’ll have a healthier diet.
Just make sure you don’t lose any unnecessary amount of weight – keep eating proteins
i.e. Tofu (really good with noodles), Quinoa, Beans, etc.
What are good vegetarian recipes for weight loss?
I would like to say first I am not a vegetarian. I’m interested in losing weight in eating more fruits and vegetables. Anything would be great to eat. I always love to eat beans, salads, fruit, drink different fruit and vegetable juices.
There are some foods that you can consume to reduce weight. You can watch the video below to get more information about the food that is important to reduce your weight
Clinton’s weight loss secret: Plant based diet….
Bill Clinton’s Vegan Weight Loss Secret and His 4 Heart Disease Reversal Gurus
We previously told you about the weight loss possibilities of plant-based diets (“I lost 40 pounds in six months as a vegan: Joi Ito,” “Vegetarianism for Weight Loss: Tips for Omnivores.”) And now additional testimony comes from former President Bill Clinton, who also reveals how a plant-based diet might reverse heart disease.
Transcript of Bill Clinton’s Weight Loss Interview
Wolf Blitzer: How do you lose so much weight? What kind of diet are you on?
Bill Clinton: The short answer is I went on essentially a plant based diet. I live on beans, legumes, vegetables, fruits. I drink a protein supplement every morning. No dairy. I drink almond milk mixed in with fruit and a protein powder, so I get the protein for the day when I start the day out.
It changed my whole metabolism and I lost 24 pounds. I got back to basically what I weighed in high school. But I did it for a different reason, I mean I wanted to lose a little weight but I never dreamed this would happen.
I did it because after I had this stent put in I realized that even though it happens quite often that after you have bypass that you lose the veins because they are thinner and weaker than arteries. The truth is that it clogged up, which means that the cholesterol was still causing build-up in my vein that was part of my bypass and thank God I could take the stents.
I don’t want it to happen again. So I did all this research and I saw that 82 percent of the people since 1986 who have gone on a plant based [diet], no dairy, no meat of any kind, no chicken or turkey[...] I eat very little fish — once in a while I will have a little fish, not often. If you can do it, 82 percent of the people who have done that have begun to heal themselves. Their arterial blockage cleans up, the calcium deposit around their heart breaks up.
This movement has been led by a doctor named Caldwell Esselstyn at the Cleveland Clinic, Dean Ornish you know out in California, the doctors [T. Colin and Thomas M.] Campbell — father and son who wrote The China Study and a handful of others. We now have 25-years of evidence.
So I thought, well since I needed to lose a little weight for Chelsea’s wedding, I will become part of this experiment. I will see if I can be one of those who can have a self-clearing mechanism. We’ll see.
Wolf Blitzer: I hope you are healthy for many years and get to see grandchildren for many years to come.
Bill Clinton: Me too, that is really the big deal. You know why? Hillary and I, we are happy, we love our son-in-law. And we would like to be around if there are grandkids, we would like to do our part.
Wolf Blitzer: Mr. President, good luck.
Bill Clinton: Thank you.
Bill Clinton’s Heart Disease Reversal Gurus
Who are these doctors and researchers cited by former president Clinton? Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D., is the author of Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Dean Ornish, M.D., is the author of Dr. Dean Ornish’s Programme for Reversing Heart Disease, and the Campbells are the authors of The China Study.
Caldwell Esselstyn
Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr. wrote Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease using results from his 20-year study that proved a plant-based diet could cure heart disease. Rather than just treating symptoms of heart disease, Esselstyn’s focus is on prevention through a plant-based diet free of oil. His findings prove a vegan diet can not only prevent, but can also reverse heart disease. His case studies include patients who were given less than a year to live prior to seeing him, yet after mere months on Esselstyn’s diet, their symptoms reversed, and 12 years later, they were still symptom free.
Below is a radio interview of Dr. Esselstyn, which focuses on the benefits of a plant-based diet.
